Diy fails

There are so many DIY repairs and jobs that can seem easy enough to do but take some skill and practice to perfect, and don't forget the price of the tools.

Some DIY jobs can be dangerous if the correct precautions are not taken and injury can follow. With the right tools, knowledge and safety precautions you can lessen the chance of any injuries.

Some of you may remember Home Improvements from the early 90's until 1999. You may remember Tim "The Toolman" Taylor (Played by Tim Allen) and the many times he failed at his DIY project. Learning from this it is best to leave the home improvements/repairs to the experts so you don't end up like Tim Taylor.

I have the tools, knowledge and experience to lessen the chance of any injuries happening and it saves you from any injuries. I have spent the money on the right tools for the job to make it easier for the job to be done perfectly.

If you want a professional job, don't have the tools or just don't want to risk injuring yourself then I can help you out.

Pricing and quotes!!

There are a lot of people hiring tradies to either quote a job or complete the job. It can be a hard time to choose the right tradie for your job, are they within your budget.

With my quotes I take into account my travel time, time to complete the job and any materials required. I also take into account that my tools won't last forever and they do wear out with each use, especially my drill bits and chisels. They may have insurance and other incidentals to pay for and a business to run.

If my price is higher then the next, it may be because I value my work and don't want to have to rush a job just to make it worth while to do. I like to know that when I'm assembling your flat pack, hanging your pictures or repairing your plaster, I don't have to rush the job, I can take the time to precisely complete your job and make sure that it is accurate.

If I have to lower my quote to much then it may not be worth while doing the job or I may have to rush the job to complete it and earn a reasonable amount. This may result in a non satisfactory job and you not being happy with the end result.

When you ask a tradie for a quote just think about what quality of work you want. Do you want someone to just come and complete the job as fast as possible, or someone that will complete the job precisely and carefully and may even do that little extra job that you need done.

I like what I do and value my work, I like to know that I can do the job precisely and not have to rush anything, I may even do that little extra for you and even complete that little extra job.

Next time you hire a tradie for a job just think about what they have to pay for, or even a family to support.

Airbnb maintenance!!!

I would like to start by saying a big thanks to my customers and followers that have helped make my business a success. I have been looking at ways to make the next step and increase my business.

I have been thinking about getting into home maintenance and with so many Airbnb's out there why not start with them. I have experience in building flat pack furniture, repairing and replacing door handles, repairing plaster, hanging pictures and shelves and more.

I can handle your repairs, organize your tradies (electrician and plumber) and keep your Airbnb making you money.

I love seeing the end product of a nicely maintained house and that expertly built furniture.

If you don't have time to book tradies and don't know how to maintain your Airbnb then I can help.

What about a new wardrobe to help organise your clothes, I can assemble the biggest and most complex wardrobes with the utmost of care taken. I even have the strength to help move the heavy items into place wherever you need it.

How about that special picture, I can hang it in plaster or masonry ensuring it will stay hung forever. I have hung 100's of pictures ranging from 2kg-10kg. I have an eye for interior design, arranging your pictures in a professional way.

Whatever you need assemble or hung I can do it in time for valentines day or even a birthday. I love seeing that flat pack come together and those pictures in place on the wall.

Ryobi Hammer drill kit

Ryobi 18V one + Hammer drill kit

As I have had great use out of my Ryobi 12v drill driver and it has been a great drill despite only being a 12v mini drill.

I have been looking at getting a hammer drill to expand my tools and jobs that I can do, I looked at a lot of different brands and price ranges. I didn't want a cheap drill that would only last a year, but something that would last a years without fault but not cost a small fortune.

I decided that since my small Ryobi drill has been so great and beyond what I would have thought it would do. So I decided to go with a Ryobi hammer drill as it is a brand that is well known but won't cost a small fortune.

While I waited to save the money to purchase the Ryobi 18v hammer drill, Bunnings had a Ryobi 18v hammer drill kit at a good price. It wasn't your ordinary kit, it came with 2 X 1.3ah or 1.5ah batteries, a great hard case and 100 piece drill/driving accessories.

As I hadn't quite saved up the money for the Hammer drill kit $199, I decided to purchase the kit. As with all drill kits they don't seem to be available for very long and at such a great price it wasn't going to stay on the shelf very long.

Now that I have the hammer drill kit and 100 piece accessory kit I love it. It is at a great price and the hammer drill alone is about the same price.

I didn't need all the accessories, but since the drill alone was almost the price of this kit it was worth purchasing and having some extra drill bits and screwdriver bits.

Thanks Ryobi for making such a great hammer drill kit with so many useful accessories that I know I will use along with a great case.

Airtasker Reviews

As I have been trying to get Adam’s Handy Hands started I have been finding jobs on Airtasker. It has been a great service, having lots of jobs in one place but having to compete with others on quoting the job.

I have had a few successful jobs through Airtasker and meet some great people.

Here are some of the reviews I have been given about the jobs I have performed.

I assisted moving furniture around this persons house.
"Friendly, careful, punctual and consistent work ethic."

I assisted another person move furniture around their house.
"Adam did a fantastic job helping me move furniture. He was on time and very professional."

I assembled some flat pack furniture for Julie M.
"First time using Airtasker so Adam was patient. Good communication, came on time, job was dome well and cheerfully - a great help and would definitely use again"

I assisted someone move some office furniture from one office to another in the same building.
"Adam was fantastic. Arrived on time and worked really hard. Highly recommended."

Took some unwanted stuff to the op shop.
"Very professional and on time. Thanks again for your help!"

My work.

Adam’s Handy Hands has been busy the last few days, assisting people move furniture around there homes, working out those pesky flat pack instructions and hanging those precious memories.

There’s no flat pack I can’t assemble, painting I can’t hang or furniture I can’t move up or downstairs. Flat out? I can assemble your flat pack.

I have an eye for detail, a passion for assembly and an obsession for perfection.

Whether it be assembling your flat pack furniture, hanging that precious memory or just assisting you move your furniture I have the same quality and care with everything.
