Looking for quotes.

It is a tough time finding the right tradie for the job without paying over the top but paying a fair price for what you need done.

You may want to find the cheapest person for the job, but getting the cheapest person isn't always the best. You are paying the tradie for a quality job that will last, but with the cheapest quote you are getting what you pay for.

With a quote the tradie will be pricing the job at what they think it is worth to them and their time. When tradies quote cheaply they are saying that that is what their time and knowledge is worth and it may not be much.

My quote may be higher then the next but I value my time, experience and knowledge of how to get jobs done properly, I also have a business to run and insurance to pay. This all adds to the price of my quote and the quality of work I do.

If people try to reduce my quote, then it may not be worth doing the job as I will have to rush to complete the job quicker then I expected or use cheaper materials. This may result in a cheaper quality of work and you may be less happy with the result.

Sometimes it pays to accept a reasonable price that the tradie and you can agree on so the tradie can do a proper job. It may be a few dollars or even $50 dollars more, but this could mean the difference between a quality job and a rushed job that you end up hating for years to come.

So next time you need a tradie, have a think about why they are quoting what they are and just remember, you are paying for what you get.
